Venn Diagram of Google Suggestions for Religious Queries THIS. This is my problem with the church. All the stupid people out there who spend there energy and religious fire hating. It’s not about hate, it’s about love. It’s about love for everyone, no matter if they’re gay or black or a woman or homeless or Muslim or Jewish or atheist or a murderer or an immigrant or a teenager or an MTV star or depressed or disabled. People like the Battle Cry Campaign have it all wrong. We shouldn’t be protesting in San Francisco where gay marriages were celebrated.  That’s hate. Hate is NOT what Christianity is about.  It’s about worship where you can feel the presence of something in the room. It’s about loving and helping those who need it.  It’s about going out into the community and being the help when someone cries out for it. Not lecturing or scolding, just loving and helping and being there. And even though Christians are imperfect, the point is to strive towards the perfection that Christ portrayed. Not striving within, but striving throughout. Having the love pour out and into the community and into those in more need than yourself. Still, even though these people aren’t quite getting it, it’s not a reason to hate them. They need love just as much as the next person. Teach through example and love, not through hate. They’re being hateful, so how does it show them they’re wrong if we only show them hate in return. Love, not hate. Love is the only way.
